Our philosophy

Sustainable care, networked support, committed teaching.

Family Doctor Model

As independent family doctors, being supported by a strong network is highly important to us.
For you as a patient, this offers a great advantage: we have strong relationships with many colleagues and experts, giving us access to valuable collective knowledge. We are committed to providing coordinated patient care within the mediX family doctor model. This reflects our philosophy that the majority of medical issues can be efficiently and sustainably managed within primary care. Additionally, a high number of insured patients within the family doctor model strengthens our political position and ensures your continued care as a patient in the future.

For these reasons, and because our capacity to take on new patients is ultimately limited, we give priority to patients who are considering switching to the mediX family doctor model for the next insurance period (or are already part of the model). We are happy to provide information about your options and assist you with the straightforward transition.

Details about Switching to the mediX General Practitioner Model

If you're unsure whether you're already enrolled in a mediX general practitioner model or whether your health insurance provider offers such a plan, you can check for yourself using the following link: https://www.medix-zuerich.ch/modellcheck.

The topic is not immediately easy to grasp. The mediX general practitioner model has a different name with each insurance company, even though it includes exactly the same benefits. Each insurer gives the mediX general practitioner model its own designated name. For example, at Helsana, it is called "Benefit Plus Hausarzt/Flexmed," while at Sanitas, it is referred to as "NetMed." Some insurers, such as Assura and Mutuel, do not offer a mediX general practitioner model at all.

Changes allowed for the beginning of the year:
Switching health insurance providers entirely.
Switching from a special insurance model (e.g., Telmed) to the mediX general practitioner model within your current insurance company.

Changes allowed at any time:
Switching from the standard model (no discount and free choice of doctor) to the mediX general practitioner model within your current insurance company.

Changes allowed monthly:
Changing the designated general practitioner or location within the mediX general practitioner model.

Insurance Information

We generally work with all health insurers and, of course, also offer services on a self-pay basis. Coordinated care for patients in the family doctor model is particularly important to us for various reasons www.medix-zuerich.ch

If you are insured under the mediX family doctor model, we are your primary care provider. We handle referrals to specialists online, so you do not need a paper referral. It is important to know that your insurer may issue violation notices if you visit another doctor directly (except for eye care and gynecology) without discussing it with us in advance.

Some services fall under supplementary insurance coverage. You can refer to your individual policy to see which services are included. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide specific information regarding this.

Training and Education

We are dedicated to advancing primary care. As teaching doctors at the University of Zurich, we actively participate in student education and, as a registered training practice, train assistant doctors – ensuring that you will continue to find dedicated family doctors in the future. For this reason, you may occasionally be seen by students or assistant doctors in training at our practice – always under our supervision.
