Family doctor model
For us as independent family doctors, the support of a network is extremely important. For you as a patient, this offers a great advantage: We have good relationships with many colleagues and experts and therefore access to valuable collective knowledge.
We are therefore committed to coordinated patient care within the framework of the mediX primary care physician model. This reflects, on the one hand, our philosophy that a large proportion of medical problems can be solved efficiently within primary care. On the other hand, a high number of insured individuals in the primary care physician model strengthens our political position and ensures your care as a patient in the future.
For these reasons, and because our care capacities are ultimately limited, patients who can envision switching to the mediX primary care physician model for the next insurance period (or who are already enrolled in the mediX primary care physician model) will be given priority. We will gladly inform you about your options and support you with the corresponding, seamless transition.

The topic isn't immediately easy to understand. The mediX family doctor model has a different name with each insurance company, even though it essentially offers the same service. Each insurer uses its own chosen name for the mediX family doctor model. For example, Helsana calls it "Benefit Plus Family Doctor/Flexmed," while Sanitas calls it "NetMed." Some insurers, including Assura and Mutuel, don't offer a mediX family doctor model at all.
Each year, at the beginning of the year, you are allowed to:
Change your health insurance provider. Or, within your current health insurance provider, switch from a special insurance model (e.g., Telmed) to the mediX family doctor model.
Possible at any time:
Switch from the standard model (no discounts and free choice of doctor) to the mediX family doctor model within your current health insurance provider.
Permitted monthly:
Within the mediX family doctor model, changing the designated family doctor or location is allowed.

If you are insured through the mediX primary care physician model, we are your first point of contact . We will arrange referrals to other specialists online. You do not need a paper referral for this. It is important to know that the insurance company will issue a violation notice if you consult another doctor directly (excluding ophthalmologists and gynecologists) without discussing it with us beforehand.
Some services fall under the category of supplementary insurance. You can find out which ones these are in your individual policy. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot provide you with any further information.

- We will discuss the best treatment options with you.
- We weigh up side effects and possible interactions with other medications.
- We will bring your medication to your home if the journey to the pharmacy is difficult for you.
Repeat prescriptions without regular medical consultations carry the risk of uncontrolled and potentially inappropriate medication. Direct dispensing ensures that your treatment is always up-to-date, safe, and tailored to your individual needs.
We want everyone to be able to go to the doctor in the way they prefer.
- Registration can be done by phone, via this website (see link on the right) or via the Arzt-direkt app.
- On site you can check in at the counter as usual, or at our self-check-in with your health insurance card or QR code.
- We offer you a laptop workspace, water and tea while you wait.
- We can offer consultations for brief matters on the same day.
- We exchange documents with you securely via the Arzt-Direkt app, or of course by post. Where possible, we do things digitally.
- There is an evening consultation hour for working people on Mondays.
